DutyMark calculates deductions; it never pays salaries or moves money. Unpaid absence is one daily rate per unexcused absence. Penalties can be a fixed amount, steps (rising with each time), or by how late (e.g. ₦200 up to 30 minutes late, ₦500 later). Penalties are capped at a share of earned pay (33% in Nigeria by default). Staff accept the policy once in the app; they can appeal an entry, and an admin can waive it. Each pay period (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) starts again from zero and is locked after it ends.
